Canadian and International Law 12
This
course explores elements of Canadian Law and its role in a social, political and international context. Students will learn
the historical contexts and philosophical issues that have shaped modern day law around the world. Students will learn to
analyze legal issues, conduct research, debate topics, and communicate results.
Philosophy:
It is my belief that you, the students, control
how and what you learn. I hope that this classroom will be a safe environment to promote discussion, debate, critical and
imaginative thinking, as well as individual growth. You will have the chance
to direct the studies within the units, with what you are interested in, and help to develop grading rubrics for class room
activities and assignments. I am here to guide you through this learning process, not to lecture. If you ever run into major
problems, please contact me.
